Paul Franklin Gregory, Jr., 87, of Burton Drive, husband of the late Margaret B. Gregory, died October 8, 2011 in his residence.

Mr. Gregory was born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Virginia Beach, which was then Princess Anne County. He was the son of the late Paul F. Gregory, Sr. and Annie May Gregory Green.

As a brick and stone mason for Snow Jr. & King Masonry Contractors for over forty years, much of his handiwork may be seen all over the Hampton Roads area from the ODU Campus,...

Paul Franklin Gregory, Jr., 87, of Burton Drive, husband of the late Margaret B. Gregory, died October 8, 2011 in his residence.

Mr. Gregory was born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Virginia Beach, which was then Princess Anne County. He was the son of the late Paul F. Gregory, Sr. and Annie May Gregory Green.

As a brick and stone mason for Snow Jr. & King Masonry Contractors for over forty years, much of his handiwork may be seen all over the Hampton Roads area from the ODU Campus, Chrysler Hall, Regent University, Green Run High School, Virginia Beach General Hospital, Stihl Corp., Bank of America Building downtown Norfolk, Maryview Hospital and Booker T. Washington High School.

From 1942-1945 he served in the U.S. Army as a medic during World War II and was a POW in Germany.

As an avid hunter and fisherman, he spent countless hours in the woods and on the waterways of Virginia and North Carolina. He especially enjoyed the Branchville Hunt Club where he was known as "Col. Klink".

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn G. Podruchny and husband Richard of Chesapeake, VA; a son, Paul F. Gregory, III and wife Linda (Susie) of Newport News, VA; a son, Ronald E. Gregory and wife, Donna of Virginia Beach, VA; an honorary son, Lane Hayden; and nine grandchildren, Richard M. Podruchny, Jr., Matthew Podruchny, Kenneth Podruchny, Jessica Baker, Shelley Gregory, Paul F. Gregory, IV, Daniel Gregory, Aaron Rosenberg, Kristina Paz; a brother, Lee J. Gregory, Sr., and wife, Catherine; a sister-in-law, Joan Bourdon; a brother-in-law, Robert E. Bourdon; eight great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home where a celebration of Mr. Gregory's life will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with his nephew, The Rev. Bill Cashman and The Rev. Paul Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
